cars and idra
and yet again, the weekend has come to an end. its the first of april ya'll. Happy 1st of April. April Fool's day, or whatever they call it. My first of april was a lazy one.. my sister did 'fooled' me earlier..but thats not important.
anyhow i had a good time with my ol' man and my 7yr old sister (i said she's 7 because she acts half her age most of the time) yesterday. at noon we went to visit my grandpa - daddy's daddy, at the ang mo kio hospital. glad to know he's still him.. eating muruku in between meals, disturbing his neighbours as and when he feels like it..and as usual, listening to his lengthy life stories with bits of humour in it. we used to think that grandpa just has too much to tell. to the point that a nod is sufficient for him to know that we are paying attention to his lecture - when it actual fact, we do not have a single clue of what the story line is. thats grandpa. before grandma's passing, we'd pay visits to them at their st george's crib. somehow, after her death, we seldom go over cos most of the time grandpa's out walking around the area, or hanging out with his newfound friend(s). now he's not being doing well. old age sickness, high blood pressure, diabeties etc. he's gotta watch his diet...in the meantime, we have him under doctors/nurses' supervision. after 2 hours of hearing grandpa's stories, me, daddy and the 7 yr old sister went window shopping for cars. its a superb way of bonding father and daughters, i tell u!!! i dont recall seeing my dad going googoogahgah about things, but if u were to place him in a car showroom, with crazy huge cars, you'll see the unexpected. then i met the car salesman, Mr Zulkifli. Whats with me and Zuls? Weird. Anyhow he works with Starsauto, for Chevrolet cars. He showed my dad around the place, urging him to have a feel of the different cars in there..going through the budget and stuff, while me and the sister take turns on who sits behind the wheel. pfft!! immature. if not for the rain, we'd be going to a few other car showrooms. after checking out a few cars at the toyota, kia motors, the chevrolet showrooms..it was only when we visited the mitsubishi showroom that i saw my daddy's eyes sparkle like a crystal ball! its like he's just eaten a fruit from heaven! all thanks to the little devil called the mitsubishi i. ![]() are we in the future already? cos i feel so 2050 when i look at it. after hearing him declare his love to this tiny weazel, i concluded that my dad's got slightly weird taste in cars. he said he's gonna buy this baby once his cpf monies are released - which is like in a couple of yrs time. *snorts* since the showrooms are just around the corner, we walked home. chitchatting about which is it, and me still holding on to the stacks of price lists. not until my sister starts telling us a joke. Joke #1: she said, while walking home sometime last week, she decided to walk across the parking lots to take the lift at the other end of the building (instead of taking the staircase). w/o realising, a light pink coloured bra fell from the heavens and landed directly on her eggshaped head. it took her like 5 seconds from the time it landed, after looking at her reflection on one of the cars' windscreen that she realised her head looked different. PAHAHAHAHAHHA!! *ahem* Joke #2: This happened earlier today. Me and sister decided to get lunch for the rest of the family. i woke up late (my bad) so i didnt do the cooking today. we went to eunos hawker centre to get the dishes. i told my sister to inform the pak cik that we're getting 2 chicken wings. I said "Idra, tell the pakcik, pakcik saya nak dua kepak ayam" idra said, "Uh pakcik, kasi saya dua kapak." Pak cik looking clueless all (i dont blame him, really) replied, "uh?" Idra looking slightly frustrated, did the chickie dance and continue to say "DUA Kapak! Kapak ayam!" upon hearing this, i smacked her forehead with my right palm, while my left holding onto my mouth to prevent myself from laughing out loud and i said to her "KEPAK laH!! kEpak ayam! where got pak cik sell KAPAK here!? its not a hardware store you know! Kapak lu! Kapak in English means, Axe!" PAHAHHAHAHA!! haaaii...idra idra... im sure its painful for her to have an elder sister who's constantly making her look like bimbo everytime. PAHAHHAHA!! |
